G-STAR Motion Picture Studios

Location: 2030 South Congress Ave
West Palm Beach, Florida 33406
(3 blocks south of Forest Hill Blvd)

If you are shooting in Florida, there is

a Motion Picture Studio for you for

NO charge!

Motion Picture Producers,

Are you shooting an Indie film and considering a Florida location?  Would 84,000 sq. ft. of motion picture studio space, for no charge, on 12 acres of security fenced-in property be helpful?  Then the G-STAR School of the Arts “makes you an offer you can’t refuse”.

G-STAR is offering, for free, full use of the entire Studios with a 17,000 sq. ft. warehouse for shooting and set construction (built in 1941, it has great old, creepy atmosphere and is one of the last of its kind in Florida); 8,500 sq. ft. of production buildings that include 12 furnished production offices with conference room (all equipped with T-1 lines, complete phone system, wireless internet, and computers), plus 9 individual workshops (art department, set construction, props, wardrobe, grip, lighting, etc.) equipped with arc welders, milling machines, wood-work machines and with roll-up bay doors for easy truck access – most with A/C and additional offices - that include a picture car and prop paint shop & a two ton crane picture car assembly and repair shop; a 3-acre asphalt parking & turning area for 18-wheelers with completely enclosed security fencing; electronic fence for 24 hour access; a car/boat/airplane wash station; lockers for crew plus multiple men & women shower facilities; and a golf cart.  In addition, you may avail yourself of school facilities when not in use, including the TV production studio, editing suites (AVID, Final Cut Pro, Vegas, Premier), rehearsal halls, acting studios, Black Box Theater (for hair, makeup & wardrobe testing plus auditions, scene blocking, etc.); conference rooms, and commissary (for a total of 84,000 sq. ft.).  We also have a state-of-the-art recording studio on site operated by another non-profit company that will work with you in both on-set audio production and post (Foley, ADR, looping, etc.).

G-STAR, in cooperation with the Palm Beach County Film Commission (561-233-1000), offers you “turnkey production packages” that include one-stop permitting, locations, hotel accommodations, crew lists from recent productions filmed in Palm Beach County, area sound stages, and vendor support lists for every aspect of filmmaking.  The school itself also is excellent for a variety of shooting locations including hospitals, theaters, business offices, corporate entrances, warehouse, concert setups, picnic areas, fishing village, 1960’s gas station, large parking areas, Louie’s cage ala “Taxi”, etc.

An important feature of this proposal is that in the process of raising money for a film project, we may help add to your already successful fund raising.  Having a viable studio location is compelling for investors.  They can visit it.  It puts bricks and mortar to a film proposal.  In addition, G-STAR is a non-profit organization and a public school supported by local, regional and State politicians, Congressmen, school officials and business organizations.  Our image is pristine and, we have found, all of this is very reassuring to investors.  If you decide to shoot at the G-STAR Motion Picture Studios, you will be free to include our location and facilities as part of your investor package.  In addition, your association with our non-profit organization allows us to offer IRS tax write-offs to owners of locations, vehicles, boats, planes, etc., thereby giving your production company the ability to utilize these items for no charge in many cases.

All of Palm Beach County is our “back lot”.  The Studios are 3 minutes from I-95, 8 minutes from Palm Beach International Airport, 15 minutes from the Turnpike and one mile from the Trump International Golf Club.  We are not on a flight path or near a train track.

G-STAR has a weekly half-hour TV show on a national network affiliate on PBS broadcast into two million homes from Miami to Orlando that is written, directed, produced and starred-in by their students.  Of course, we would like to feature your production on our weekly PBS TV show (only with your permission).  Plus, G-STAR has a weekly one-hour radio show broadcast into one million homes.  You are welcome to be a guest interviewed on the show.

OUR OFFER:

G-STAR is inviting film production companies to use our production facilities for no charge by becoming an “educational partner” with us by:

1.      Allowing G-STAR students to visit your sets to observe when you designate and under our strict supervision without any interference (please read the enclosed letter from Jamin O’Brien, Co-Producer of the Susan Seidelman film stating that the G-STAR students were never a problem and did, indeed, help them in their production).  Also, a very important note: G-STAR carries full film production insurance.  You do not have to increase your own insurance.

2.      If there is a character(s) that is in the range of our acting students (14-18 years old), allow them to audition first – however, they are not to be given any preference – if they earn the part, that’s great, but if they don’t, that is fine.

3.      You pay only for electricity, phone usage, housekeeping and trash pickup.  There is no additional cost.

4.      We ask that as many above-the-line cast and crew as interested would consent to give a talk to our students about their craft in a classroom environment.

5.      We also ask for a “Special Thanks To” or “Filmed At” end-of-film credit.

If your film production company is interested in our offer, please contact me directly at 561-386-6275 and visit us on our website at: www.gstarschool.org.

Our address is:          G-STAR School of the Arts

                              2065 Prairie Rd., Bldg. J

 Sincerely,
