In January of 2003
our property was remediated from contamination by the Palm Beach
County Water Utilities Department before we moved on the
property in July of that year. Only after extensive testing
inside and outside Building J (the only building in proximity to
the former contamination) was it approved by the Department of
Environmental Protection for occupancy by a school filled with
children. For over twenty years prior to that, the same building
was occupied by their employees without a single reported
environmental problem or health issue. As our Purchase Agreement
states, the responsibility for any issues that may ever arise in
reference to this remediation lie with Palm Beach County, not
with G-Star. They continue to monitor the test wells and small
traces exist and are slowly diminishing. The levels they are at
are well within safety guidelines and pose no threat. The State
of Florida Department of Environmental Protection letter
requiring this notice to be posted states, “There is very little
risk of exposure because groundwater in the area is not used for
drinking water and soil areas are largely capped or covered.”
