PRESS RELEASE
Celine Dion at G-Star Studios and School of the Arts

Palm Springs, FL (January 31, 2011)
Mega-recording star, Celine Dion, completed two weeks of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes filming here, Friday, in preparation for her new Caesars Palace Las Vegas show. Miss Dion needed a world-class rehearsal and film production studio and found it at G-Star. “The facility is wonderful,” declared Miss Dion. “I am very impressed with the sound stage, and the production house (i.e., green room, makeup/dressing room, etc.) is beautiful. It was great!” G-Star’s newly opened state-of-the-art sound stage includes many features beyond those offered by any other sound stage across the globe.

“Miss Dion’s prerequisites to protect her incredible voice were met by utilizing our smoke evacuation system (used for filming large-scale fire scenes) to cool the stage with fresh air instead of using the A/C system,” explains Greg Hauptner, Founder and CEO of the G-Star Studios and School of the Arts. The system has four giant, 7-foot high blowers on the roof and specially built remote control operated louvers in the walls.

“Miss Dion’s safety, security and confidentiality were paramount during her time with us,” continues Hauptner. “G-Star Studios is the largest motion picture studio in Florida and, while accommodating our clients’ needs, we carefully safeguard their privacy. Understandably, Miss Dion’s situation was unique and required absolute secrecy. It is only now, and with her permission, that we are informing the public that she was here and that she considered this a great experience.”

The G-Star School of the Arts, owner of G-Star Studios, is the largest Film, TV/Digital Media Production and Acting high school in the nation. G-Star was recognized as “The Number One High School for Film in the World” by the Raindance Film Festival (Europe’s largest film festival) in London in 2010. “Known as the safest school in the nation,” reports Hauptner, “it’s no surprise that safety and security are considered as constants here.”

The Today Show spotlights local school

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. - It is a school like no other, where participation is not just encouraged, it is a requirement.

"We're the only high school in the world that owns a full commercial motion picture studio. We are actually bigger than Universal, we just don’t have the rides," said Greg Hauptner, Founder of G-Star School of the Arts.

"This is my first year.  I moved here from Boston just for this school because film-making is my passion," said Zack Blauer a student at G-Star.

Tuesday, G-Star School of the Arts students learned from the pros, shooting an exotic car commercial.

"We are working with Digital Domain, FSU, and other professionals to give kids the experience of working on set, working with the crews, being exposed to industry standards," said Larry Decarmine, a Film Professor at the school.

"It's really cool to come to school and see all these posters up, and see exotic cars in the parking lot," said Joshua Tucci, another student at G-Star.

While their cameras rolled, so did the Today Show cameras.

"We are so fortunate to have the Today Show visiting us, it was really out of the blue, I mean, we are so flattered," said Hauptner.

"Every day I get up and say, yeah I want to go to school today, because random stuff that like this happen," said Asanga Wimalasckera, another student at G-Star.
