Community Service Guidelines
Community service hours will
only be accepted if you have followed the guidelines on the
backside of this paper. Hours should be turned in within the 9
week period of completing the hours, except summer hours.
Summer hours should be turned in during the first 9 weeks of
school.
1.
All
community service hours must have an attached signed letter, or
signature on the community service log from the supervisor of
the agency on the agency’s letterhead to be accepted. You will
not get credit for more than 8 hours on any given day.
2.
If
more than 20 hours are accumulated from one agency, a letter
must be provided by the
Supervisor of that agency stating the work done
and hours accumulated.
3.
Student volunteer hours may be earned in both school and the
community.
4.
Unpaid services count for volunteer service hours.
5.
Services performed on campus at non-profit athletic or summer
camps for no financial compensation will count as volunteer
service hours.
6.
Volunteer hours will not be given for any G-Star meetings or
clubs.
7.
Volunteer work done to promote a particular point if view or
person will not count.
8.
Service rendered directly to a profit institution or
organization or as a precondition to employment will not count.
9.
Service for a student’s family or family business will not count
10.
Service performed as a result of discipline action taken by the
school or the courts will not count.
11.
Participation in campus or competitive activities, such as
athletics, plays, clubs, debates, etc. will not count.
12.
Service performed as an academic requirement will not count.
13.
Babysitting, or similar services, performed for an individual
family will not count. Babysitting service for a school related
activity WILL count.
14.
A
family member, teacher or fellow student may not verify
volunteer hours. Community service hours must be properly
documented in order to count.
15.
Volunteer hours must be
completed at a NON PROFIT agency.
16.
Community service hours
completed for any church/religious organization must not be a
part of the church/religious ceremony.
17.
PLEASE TURN IN THE
COMPLETED COMMUNITY SERVICE LOG TO THE DATA PROCESSOR ,
TRAVIS HAGLER.
