Have you always wanted to use your talents to promote positivity?  Do you enjoy being funky on cue, rhythmic, and being on a supportive team?  Join the G-Star Step Team!  First half of lunch on Wednesday in K-105.  It’s open to all!  Come and learn about what we are, what we do, and how you can do it too!

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, roughly 2.9 million households are food insecure each year.  With Thanksgiving fast approaching, G-Start’s National Honor Society wants to help alleviate just a small part of that burden.  Please help us support local families this holiday season by contributing to our food drive.  Please bring in non-perishable and canned food items to your first block teacher from now until November 16th.  As an added bonus, the class with the most donations will win a pizza party during lunch the week after Thanksgiving break.  Thank you for your contribution.

The G-Star Beautification Project will be holding our next project this Saturday from 8 AM – 11 AM.  If you are interested in gaining community service hours and helping out our school community, please join us.  We will meet in the courtyard at 8 AM.  If you are interested in helping, you must sign up with Mr. Hoy in A-108.  Thank you!

Forgot your ID at home or don’t know where it is?  Come down during the first half of lunch to the front office and Ms. Cabrera will print you a new one for the low cost of $3.

Come join Culture Club.  We will learn about other cultures and have the opportunity to teach about your own.  Culture Club will show the importance of diversity and understanding cultures beside your own.  Come join us Monday during the first half of lunch in J-211.

Homecoming dance will be on Saturday, November 10th from 7 PM – 10 PM in the sound stage.  The theme is Light + Dark, Good Versus Evil.  Tickets will go on sale Wednesday during lunch for $15.  Tickets sold at the door will be $20.  Field Day will be this Friday during 6th block.  Student Government will meet with Ms. Embler on lunch duty, next to studio B on the way to A building.

G-Star’s first ever Grandparents Day will take place on November 7th.  Invite your grandparents and other family members to a tour, hors d’oeuvres, and a special showing of the theatre department’s fall show, Our Town.  Family members will meet in the black box at 1:15 PM and students will be TLE’d out of 7th block to attend the event.  The price is $25 per family member, which includes the student ticket.  Money is due to Mr. Edgecomb by November 6th.  Hope to see you there!  See Mr. Edgecomb or Alexa Portnoy for any questions.
